2017 Annual Conference

Foxwoods Resort & Casino

On Saturday, October 14, 2017, the CSRT proudly presented its 75th Diamond Anniversary Conference at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. More than one hundred technologists, educators, vendors and students were in attendance and enjoyed in a wide variety of innovative lectures across many of the hottest subjects in the radiologic sciences.

The day began with a fascinating lecture titled, “Understanding Islam and Muslim Beliefs and Practices as Related to Patient Care” by M. Aida Mansoor, a certified Islamic chaplain. Other lectures included the latest on trends in breast surgery, percutaneous image-guided renal tumor ablation, body posture and workplace injury and radioactive seed localization in mammography – just to name a few! The CSRT was honored by the attendance of Dr. Melissa B. Jackowski, ASRT President-Elect who provided two excellent CE lectures on professional interviews and the publication process for radiologic science professionals.

The business meeting featured a vote for bylaws revisions and a “Year in Review” provided by outgoing President Dan DeMaio, outlining many of the CSRT’s accomplishments over the 2016-2017 year. The Gail Pitkin Memorial Lecture Award was presented to Denise Yost, for the outstanding lecture of the 2017 Annual Conference. Attendees witnessed a very special moment as Jo Picone personally presented the Josephine M. Picone Lifetime Achievement Award to Professor William “Bill” Hennessy. The business meeting concluded with the nominations & elections of the 2017- 2018 Board of Directors and introductory comments by incoming CSRT President, Nora Uricchio.
